Warlocks Sub Teams
The Warlocks are made up of 5 Sub Teams
They are:
The Build Team
The build team consists of the bulk of the team members. They are responsible for the concepting and building of the robot. By working closely with mentors, the build team students gain hands on experience.
The CAD Team
The CAD team consists of four members this year. Peter Carlino, a four-year veteran and team captain, works on the general assembly, part conception, design accelerator components and Inventor Studio presentations for the Autodesk Design Competition using Autodesk Inventor software. Kim Lachell, a two-year veteran, works on part conception, orthographic machining drawings, sub-assemblies and prototyping. Jake Carson, a four-year veteran, works on the Autodesk Visualization Award using Autodesk 3Ds MAX software while rookie member Emilyann Kerr works as an apprentice in the use of the program.
The Public Relations ("PR") Team
The Public Relations section of the Lockport Warlocks team 1507 consists of Jordan Quiñones, Sarah Boone, Taylor Torrey, Sara Rupert, Brittany Souliske, Samantha Gioeli, Mercedes Handley, and Sophie Handley. During off-season, P.R. is mainly preparing for competition. During this period we make buttons for publicity, banners to catch people’s eyes, and fundraisers that are necessary for everything we do. During build season we continue to make buttons, write thank you letters to all the sponsors and relatives who have donated money and food that sustain our team. We also scout other teams during competition, but most importantly we maintain the Warlocks overall image.
The Programming Team
None of our programmers are experienced in Labview programming but have worked hard over the past year and learn it. They work closely with the design and electrical teams and try to anticipate what the needs of the robot are. Once the robot is built and the control system is installed, the program team goes to work adding functionality to the mechanics of the robot. Our job is never done, as we are often called on to make minor changes even between competitions.
The programming team consists of two mentors: Al Gritzmacher and Ken Handley and three students: Alex, Eric and Sophia.
